The day with Daniel, the gaucho, was a life experience I will never trade. This was truly remote and authentic on hundreds of acres in the Andes. The day was breathtaking, beginning with breakfast at Daniel's, the horseback ride through the Andes, the Asado for lunch that Daniel makes after he creates a fire. There is truly no way to describe this experience, it was by far the best day I had in Argentina.
Much more than a horseback riding the Gaucho Day is a once in a life time experience.
A Gaucho is an equivalent of the North American «cowboy». The Gaucho plays a nationalistic symbol in Argentina. The Gauchos became greatly admired and renowned in legends, folklore and in literature. Gauchos remain proud and great horse riders. The gaucho’s horse represents most of what he owns in the world.
This Gaucho Day tour is unlike any of the other popular and mainstream horse-riding offered in Mendoza, and is dependent on the gaucho’s work schedule and weather conditions. We usually need 48hrs minimum anticipation to organize the tour. Available all year long, weather permitting.
What to do day after the horseback riding ? Enjoy a day of wine tasting in Lujan de Cuyo or the Uco Valley !
